Locally owned and operated, The Reading Bug is the dream of John and Fleur Fanselow.

“We’ve always enjoyed reading to our three girls and know, first hand, how important it is that they are exposed to good quality books from an early age”.

“We wanted to get and keep kids enthused about books and reading.”

“We loved the idea of creating a bookshop that would showcase books in a really exciting and innovative way”

From those ideas and a desire to open a business together, The Reading Bug was born.
John and Fleur both grew up locally and have lived here most of their lives. John has a strong background in Sales and Fleur trained as a primary school teacher before becoming a full-time parent.
